A game played with a bat and ball by 2 opposing teams of 9 players, each team playing alternately in the field and at bat, the players at bat having to run a course of 4 bases laid out in a diamond pattern in order to score.

QRSS is changing the 15-19yrs baseball state championships scheduling with the 2027 QLD State team to be selected from a state championship that will be staged in 2026 – see below for 2027 state championship dates.
2027 QRSS 15-19yrs Baseball State Championships will be held in Term 4 2026, from Thursday 29 October – Sunday 1 November in Met West Region (Brisbane).
Age Eligibility:
- The eligibility for the 2027 QRSS 15-19yrs Baseball 2027 state championship is 14yrs – 18 yrs (as of 31 December 2026 – this calendar year)
- This year's 14-year-old students will be 15-year-old students in 2027 and therefore eligible for Qld selection to complete at the 2027 SSA event.
NOTE: Students currently in Year 12 in 2026 are ineligible to attend the regional trials this year due to the age eligibility guidelines above – these students will also have finished school are will not be enrolled at a state school for 2027
